Josh Taylor wins to become unified WBA and IBF light welterweight champion
and wins World Boxing Super Series

Josh Taylor defeated Regis Prograis in the World Boxing Super Series final at the O2 Arena to become undoubtedly the No 1 fighter in the light welterweight division. Taylor
leaves with not only the Muhammad Ali trophy in hand but also the unified WBA, IBF title belts after a 12 round war. Prograis was the man who landed the more frequent
punches in the early stages but Taylor hit the more telling blows, with his left hooks bloodying the nose of the then unbeaten American.

Josh Taylor won his first world title at home in Scotland, taking the IBF junior welterweight
title from Ivan Baranchyk with a clear decision win. Along with the title, Taylor earns a spot
in the World Boxing Super Series light welterweight tournament final. where he’ll face WBA
titleholder Regis Prograis later this year. Taylor won on scores of 115-111, 115-111, and
117-109. Scoring two knockdowns in round six.
